Emirates has unveiled plans to grow the number of flights across its network by 14 per cent in 2009, increasing cargo capacity by 17 per cent.
With strong business growth continuing – operating revenues up 31 per cent, passenger traffic up 11 per cent, cargo tonnes up 13 per cent – there is a positive outlook for the next six months.
Emirates Airline made a major addition to its wide-bodied fleet and cargo capabilities when a delivery of two Boeing 777 aircraft arrived in Dubai at the end of August.
The Emirates Group has reported its 20th consecutive year of net profit, notching a new profit record despite soaring oil prices and challenging business conditions in the second half of its 2007-08 fiscal year.
